| Message from our Executive Director
Life is the ultimate gift. It is both precious and fragile, yet remarkably resilient. Life without context is existence. What gives meaning to life is purpose. It is the tie that binds. For Hopevale, Inc., that purpose is embodied in its mission. One need not look further than the first nine words of Hopevale's Mission Statement to discern that purpose: "The Mission of Hopevale is to rebuild young lives...". The rest of the statement speaks to the how of rebuilding young lives. That is an important question, but the answer to that is an ever-evolving one.
We at Hopevale are united in our mission to rebuild young lives. You need look no further than the teenager reunited with their family for a fresh start, or the young child finding safety and solace in the loving arms of a foster or adoptive family. These are the stories of hope and inspiration that remind us why we are here, why what we do is truly important, that we are making a difference in the life of a child.
As the challenges and needs of those we serve evolve, so do the means employed by the staff, volunteers and donors to effect change. In this year that means delivering services and meeting challenges in whole new ways to youth. We have seen the introduction of family preservation services through our Respite Services offered on campus and in Foster Care. We have seen our provision of restorative services to young men grow by the opening of a second boys' cottage. We have seen the expansion of our Wraparound and Foster Care Services to meet the needs of families and children in the community.
The constant in all this is purpose. It drives our Mission and our efforts. What fuels this is the hopes, prayers, efforts and contributions made by our donors, volunteers, Boards and staff.
